American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Wake Forest is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Wake Forest is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I'm so glad you're reading this. It means you are so very, very, close to having the greatest donut ever crafted by human hands. Sultans and kings of the days old would weep eating these, and all the riches of their kingdoms never brought them delicacies as perfectly made as those donuts. We have a guy, Roderick, who brings a dozen of these to work on Saturdays. I would follow that man to the end of the earth for simply sharing these absolutely incredible morsels of divine representation. The glaze is sweet, thick, and not too sweet. The donut itself is as if a pillow was magically transformed into a soft, doughy, airy, treat. If you are lucky enough to see this review, I cannot encourage you enough to buy yourself as many as you can fit into your tummy. I promise you with everything I am that you will not regret it.

First time visitor, lifetime fan. Love the teal colored accents in the store! As an out of town guest, always excited to explore the local small business and donuts are my partners favorite thing! We went on a Friday morning and arrived at 6:30 a.m. to try to beat the morning rush. It was a great time to visit with plenty of donuts, several patrons and very friendly staff. I was surprised at the large size donuts and affordable prices. Everything we got was delicious, soft, fresh and flavorful, from the old fashioned to the apple fritter to the cinnamon roll and one of the best glazed donuts we've ever had. I highly recommend supporting this local business and enjoying these delicious donuts! We will be back in a few months and can't wait!

Heritage Donuts is my go-to donut shop! The service is always fast and friendly, and the interior is super clean with indoor seating. They have an amazing variety of donuts to choose from. My favorite is the Pumpkinβ itβs moist, perfectly spiced, and not overly sweet. Prices are great too. Highly recommend if you're craving fresh, delicious donuts!

I love this place! The glazed donut and coffee I got were the two best things I have ever gotten from any donut shop I have been to! The glazed donut was very doughy and filling. They even topped it off with glaze and powdered sugar! My coffee had just the right amount of cream in it, and was very sweet. It got me energized for the rest of my workday today. Keep up the good work! :)

So better than I expected. This is where local is best. Cozy atmosphere. Big doughnuts where I am just salivating by the size and options. I got the s'mores and the fruity pebbles. Both were soft and filling with a solid sweetness. The toasted marshmallow and the fruity pebbles didn't take away but added to the texture and I love the prices. Come here and you will not be disappointed. I am coming back for some jelly filled ones myself.
